Unity House Emergency Shelter
Our emergency shelter provides a secure refuge for women and women with children escaping interpersonal violence, offering accommodation for up to 21 days. Our Crisis Workers are accessible 24/7 to respond to crisis calls via the Family Violence Crisis Line, delivering compassionate support, educational resources, and necessary referrals to shelter residents.

Second Stage Women's Shelter
Our Second Stage Shelter operates subsidized apartment units for women and women with children leaving abusive and unsafe environments, providing accommodation for up to 2 years. Our team of dedicated support staff create a supportive and safe environment and connect residents with essential resources for their continued journey towards independence and healing.

Sexual Trauma Supports & Services
Our Sexual Trauma Supports & Services provide comprehensive assistance and care to individuals that have experienced sexual violence. Our team consists of staff that specialize in this area and offer compassionate support, counselling, and resources to empower individuals and their support people on their path to healing and recovery. This team also provides education through presentations and workshops on a variety of topics. Our Crisis Workers are accessible 24/7 to respond to crisis calls via the Sexual Trauma Support Line, delivering personalized support and necessary referrals for care.

Child & Youth Advocacy Centre
The Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) is a partnership serving children and youth ages 3 years to 17 years and their families between RCMP, Victim Services, Child and Family Services, Athabasca Tribal Council, and Waypoints. The goal of this Centre is to provide a trauma-informed, safe and child friendly environment for wrap around support and services to our young people and their families. Referrals for these services are through the RCMP or Children’s Services.

Outreach Program
Our Outreach Program is dedicated to assisting individuals in need across our community. Through proactive initiatives and personalized support, we aim to empower and uplift those encountering challenges, offering tailored programs, valuable resources, and compassionate presence to enhance well-being and foster resilience. Our outreach efforts extend to communities within the RMWB, delivering public awareness through presentations, workshops and information booths adapted to suit participants and timeframes.

Opportunities for Change
Our Opportunities for Change is a prevention treatment program consisting of a 15-session psycho-educational group program designed for adults who have used violence in their intimate partner relationships. We are committed to providing resources and facilitating positive change, empowering individuals to build healthier relationships. Both male and female groups are offered. Group Facilitators may offer referrals to other programs or services as needed.

The Compass Affordable Housing
The Compass is Waypoints’ community-centered initiative, providing affordable, safe, and welcoming housing in the Wood Buffalo Region. With thoughtfully designed units—bachelor, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom—The Compass supports diverse needs and lifestyles, offering residents more than a home: a supportive community to help them thrive.
